Privacy Policy for RoomGuard

Effective date: October 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how RoomGuard: Spy Cam Scanner handles information when you use the RoomGuard iOS app. RoomGuard helps users inspect rooms using iPhone-supported tools such as local network scanning, Bluetooth scanning, magnetic field readings, infrared inspection, lens-glint checks, and a guided room checklist. The free version may show Google Mobile Ads banner ads, and the app offers an optional one-time Remove Ads purchase.

Data Collection

RoomGuard does not require an account and does not ask for your name or email address inside the app. Camera video, Bluetooth scan results, magnetic readings, local network scan results, checklist progress, room safety scores, and inspection guidance are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to a custom server controlled by us.

Camera Access

RoomGuard requests camera access for infrared and lens-glint inspection tools. Camera frames are used locally on the iPhone for the live inspection view. RoomGuard does not record, save, upload, sell, or share camera video.

Local Network Access

RoomGuard requests local network access to inspect the Wi-Fi network you are currently using for devices that may expose camera-like network services, video-streaming ports, or web interfaces. Scan results are shown in the app and are not sent to us.

Bluetooth Access

RoomGuard requests Bluetooth access to show nearby wireless devices and signal strength. Device names, identifiers visible to iOS, and signal strength readings are used locally for the scan screen and are not sent to us.

Magnetic Field and Motion Data

RoomGuard may use iPhone sensor readings to show magnetic field changes and help guide a manual inspection. Readings can be affected by chargers, speakers, magnets, laptop lids, bags, furniture hardware, appliances, and other common electronics. Sensor readings are processed locally and are not sent to us.

Local App State

RoomGuard may keep local app state such as selected language, permission state, purchase entitlement state, recent scan progress, checklist state, and app preferences. This information is used to operate app features on your device. You can remove local app data by deleting the app from your device.

Advertising

RoomGuard uses Google Mobile Ads to show banner ads to users who do not have ad-free access. Google Mobile Ads may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers when available, IP address, approximate location, app interaction data, diagnostics, and related advertising data according to Google's advertising and privacy practices. RoomGuard configures Google Mobile Ads for general-audience ad content.

Tracking Permission

On supported iOS versions, RoomGuard may request App Tracking Transparency permission before starting Google Mobile Ads or loading banner ads for free users. If you allow tracking, Google Mobile Ads may use the advertising identifier and related signals for advertising and measurement. If you deny tracking, banner ads may still be shown with limited or non-personalized ad behavior depending on platform and provider rules. Users who purchase or restore Remove Ads do not load RoomGuard's AdMob banner placements.

Purchases

RoomGuard offers an optional one-time Remove Ads purchase. Purchases and restore actions are handled by Apple StoreKit and the App Store. We do not receive your payment-card information. The app may use App Store entitlement information to determine whether ad-free access is active.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

RoomGuard does not include a separate analytics SDK or crash reporting SDK controlled by us. Advertising and purchase providers may process data as described in their own policies and platform documentation.

Children's Privacy

RoomGuard is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Retention

We do not retain RoomGuard account data because no account is required and we do not operate a custom user database for the app. Local app settings and purchase entitlement state remain on your device according to iOS and App Store behavior until you change settings, reset data, or delete the app. Advertising and purchase providers may retain data according to their own retention practices.

Your Privacy Choices

You can revoke camera, Bluetooth, local network, and tracking permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Some RoomGuard features may not work when related permissions are disabled. You can remove local app data by deleting RoomGuard from your device. You can use Restore Purchases in the app when reinstalling or moving to another device with the same App Store account.

Important Usage Limits

RoomGuard provides room-inspection guidance only. It cannot guarantee detection of every hidden camera, microphone, tracker, or electronic device. Results may be affected by network configuration, device visibility, Bluetooth privacy behavior, sensor noise, lighting, reflective surfaces, camera limitations, and environmental conditions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if RoomGuard's features or data practices change. Any updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
