Privacy Policy for Gridless AI

This Privacy Policy explains how Gridless AI handles information when you use the Gridless AI iOS app. Gridless AI is a local-first AI app for private chat, learning quests, contribution points, secure network status, model metadata, and related app utility features. The free version may show Google Mobile Ads banner ads, and the app offers an optional one-time Remove Ads purchase.

Data Collection

Gridless AI does not require an account and does not ask for your name or email address. Raw chat history and raw prompt text are designed to remain on your iPhone and are not sent to the Gridless server.

Local Chat History

Chat sessions and messages are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you delete them or delete the app. Gridless AI does not upload your raw chat history to our server.

Local AI Model Files

Gridless AI may download AI model files or adapter files from the Gridless model host so they can be used locally on your iPhone. The server may provide model manifests, file URLs, sizes, and checksums. Model files are app data stored on your device and may be removed if you delete the app or clear app data.

Secure Coordinator

Gridless AI uses a lightweight secure coordinator server for limited operational features such as App Attest challenge handling, secure session setup, anonymous node status, peer discovery, model manifests, adapter manifests, contribution rules, contribution balances, and contribution event sync. These coordinator calls do not require raw chat history or raw prompt text.

Device Attestation and Security

The app uses Apple's App Attest technology to help the server confirm that requests come from a genuine signed copy of Gridless AI. The app may create and store an App Attest key identifier in the device Keychain. The private key is managed by iOS and is not sent to us. The app also uses encrypted secure API requests for Gridless coordinator operations.

Contribution and Network Data

If you use contribution features, Gridless AI may send limited operational records such as an anonymous node identifier, app version, platform, device class, broad region if configured by the app, contribution event identifiers, event types, point deltas, work-unit counts, timestamps, and proof hashes. These records are used to operate app utility points and coordinator features.

Learning Quests

Learning quests store private learning samples locally on your iPhone. Raw learning content is not uploaded to us unless a future sharing option is explicitly introduced and enabled by you. Current contribution sync can send limited event metadata, not raw chat history.

Gridless Points

Gridless Points are app utility credits only. They are not cash, not cryptocurrency, not transferable, and not redeemable for money. The app may sync point-related event metadata with the coordinator so balances can be calculated or checked.

Advertising

Gridless AI uses Google Mobile Ads to show banner ads to users who do not have ad-free access. Google Mobile Ads may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers when available, IP address, approximate location, app interaction data, diagnostics, and related advertising data according to Google's advertising and privacy practices. Gridless AI configures Google Mobile Ads for general-audience ad content.

Tracking Permission

On supported iOS versions, Gridless AI may request App Tracking Transparency permission before starting Google Mobile Ads or loading banner ads for free users. If you allow tracking, Google Mobile Ads may use the advertising identifier and related signals for advertising and measurement. If you deny tracking, banner ads may still be shown with limited or non-personalized ad behavior depending on platform and provider rules. Users who purchase or restore Remove Ads do not load Gridless AI's banner ad placement.

Purchases

Gridless AI offers an optional one-time Remove Ads purchase. Purchases and restore actions are handled by Apple StoreKit and the App Store. We do not receive your payment-card information. The app may use App Store entitlement information to determine whether ad-free access is active.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

Gridless AI does not include a separate analytics SDK or crash reporting SDK controlled by us. Advertising, App Store, and Apple platform services may process data as described in their own policies and platform documentation.

Children's Privacy

Gridless AI is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Retention

Local chat history, local learning samples, model files, settings, and app state remain on your device until you delete them or delete the app. Coordinator records are retained as needed to operate app security, model distribution, peer discovery, and contribution-point features. Advertising and purchase providers may retain data according to their own retention practices.

Your Privacy Choices

You can delete local app data by deleting Gridless AI from your device. You can manage tracking permission in iOS Settings. You can disable contribution options in the app. You can use Restore Purchases in the app when reinstalling or moving to another device with the same App Store account.

Important Usage Limits

Gridless AI can produce incorrect, incomplete, or outdated answers. It is not a medical, legal, financial, emergency, safety-critical, or professional advice system. Review important answers independently before relying on them.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if Gridless AI's features or data practices change. Any updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
